Gaming Africa, the inaugural conference dedicated to the development of the industry across the continent, is being viewed as a landmark event by delegates, sponsors and organisers. The high profile two-day learning and networking event, which closed in Johannesburg (25 October), attracted industry thought leaders and regulators from 52 countries, including 16 African nations.

Greece.- Euclid Tsakalotos, Finance Minister of Greece, revealed on Friday that two bills will be presented to Parliament before Christmas. The bills will talk about the regulation of online gaming and the casino market.

Tsakalotos’ claims come after a meeting of the house’s Financial Affairs Committee that talked about the revision of the legislation on video lottery terminals (VLTs) presented in 2011. The Minister said that he’s in favor of the new regulations for VLTs, as he believes that the modality can bring annual revenues of more than US$380 million to the state in the long run, local media reported.



Scientific Games Corp has announced the signing of an agreement with Google subsidiary Apigee to utilize its full lifecycle application programming interface (API) management platform as part of the company’s portfolio of casino management technology solutions for the gaming industry.

The agreement will allow Scientific Games to deploy Apigee API management software in its suite of casino and slot management systems solutions and will enable the company to design, secure, deploy, monitor and scale APIs. Apigee’s industry-leading solution will make integration with third-party applications easier, more secure, more reliable and more operationally efficient, Scientific Games stated.



The Hong Kong-listed Landing International has announced this week it has completed the sale of its London venue Les Ambassadeurs Club and Casino. The transaction, which took place 11 October, has been tagged at HKD2.5bn (US$320.3m), according to a firm statement.
“All conditions precedent of the disposal agreement have been fulfilled and the completion took place on 11 October 2017,” said Landing International in a filing.
